Northside Hospital Forsyth offering free cardiovascular screening

This month, Northside Hospital Forsyth will offer residents free screenings to determine their risk for heart and blood vessel disease.

According to a news release by Northside Hospital Forsyth, the screening will take place from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 14 at the Northside Hospital Forsyth Cancer Institute, 1200 Northside Forsyth Drive in Cumming.

The release stated that according to the American Heart Association, cardiovascular disease remains the No. 1 killer of Americans.

“There are a range of factors that raise your risk of developing CVD (cardiovascular disease) and having a heart attack or stroke. The more factors you have, the greater your risk. It is essential to find out your risk for CVD and make a plan to prevent it,” the release stated.

The free screening will be administered by health care professionals and includes a private consultation, risk assessment, blood pressure reading, total cholesterol reading, glucose testing and a body mass index analysis.

Appointments to this screening are required and can be made by calling (404) 851-6550.
