Registration open for youth baseball, softball Forsyth rec leagues
Sports

Registration is open for youngsters wanting to learn the games of baseball and softball.

Starting this week and continuing until Friday, Aug. 4, Forsyth County Parks and Recreation will accept registrations for fall baseball and softball leagues. The leagues are open to players from ages 4-17, and the youngest players must be 4 by Sept. 1.

“Our fall baseball and softball leagues are very popular in the county,” said Jim Pryor, director of parks and rec, in a news release. “It’s a great way for kids and their families to kick off the new school year, make friends and have fun, all while staying active.”

The league is instructional and a chance for players to “have fun and learn the playing rules” for spring baseball and softball, and no scores or standings are recorded.

After registering, players will be placed into teams in their age division.

Practice starts the week of Aug. 28, and games are held from mid-September through mid-October.

Registration is $75 for county residents and $150 for non-county residents and can be done online at Forsythco.com/parks or at Central Park at 2300 Keith Bridge Road, Fowler Park at 4110 Carolene Way and Old Atlanta Park at 810 Nichols Road.
