A year-round lifestyle

Earth Fare can be a one-stop shop for healthy living, and its website reflects that mindset. When you go to print out coupons for products throughout the health foods grocery store in The Collection at Forsyth, scroll to read some wellness tips:

* Try a soul-nourishing aromatherapy balm stick from Moon Valley Organics, a handcrafted, artisanal body care brand
* Wash your hair with beer. Yes, really. Broo is a hair and body care brand that uses, you guessed it, beer as their main ingredient. Don’t worry, the color-safe shampoos and conditioners don’t smell like beer
* Start the day with superfoods in Amazing Grass Amazing Meal products, which include greens, phytonutrients-concentrated nutrition, veggies, cereal grasses, digestive enzymes and probiotics with 11+ grams of protein
* For more deals and tips, visit Earth Fare's website.

Places all over the Forsyth County area may be quick to promote a “new year, new you” campaign, hoping you’ll live up to your goal to live a healthier and happier lifestyle. But who are we kidding? New Year’s resolutions don’t always last.

Let’s be clear. Resolutions are a great way to jumpstart a positive change in your life. But why only make a resolution to better yourself at the beginning of the year? Why not live better all the time?

“While January is a time to focus on healthy living and eating, our belief is that you should live well all year long. And you can do that in different forms. It’s not just the food you eat, but your lifestyle,” said Cheri Hoffman, marketing director for Earth Fare.

The authentic specialty organic and natural foods store recently opened in The Collection at Forsyth off Peachtree Parkway. It offers, as Hoffman said, not just healthy food but a healthy lifestyle.

“It’s a conversation we want to continue having with our customers really throughout the year,” she said.

A unique aspect of the Earth Fare franchise — the Cumming location is the 40th to open in 40 years throughout the Southeast — is its wellness and beauty section, which has anything from vitamins and supplements to probiotics and homeopathics.

“Living well encompasses a lot of different things,” Hoffman said. “We try to be a partner with our customers, and the products they put on their body, it’s really a 360-view to living well.”

Many products in the wellness and beauty section of any Earth Fare are gluten-free, natural and/or organic.

“Those are the [ones] we hear the most these days as customers are becoming more aware of the benefits of these products,” she said.

It goes beyond that, too. The store does not carry products that were tested on animals. Organic, non-GMO, gluten-free and vegan items are a priority and meet regulations wherever that applies. No products have artificial colors, flavors sweeteners or hydrogenated oils.

Don’t know where to start?

“We have a wellness adviser in every location because, as you can imagine, everyone’s needs and wants are different,” Hoffman said. “They’re not medical advisers, but they can guide you as to what products you may want or like. It’s a place to start.

“We have customers who are very well-versed and can come in and get what they need. But, especially this time of year, we have people who are just coming in for the first time. It’s all accessible, and we want to be their partner on this journey.”
