Our county commissioners have decided to sue the government! With Dave Richard leading the charge, they have chosen to fight the decision by the Army Corps of Engineers.
The residents of Forsyth County should be appalled to learn this, especially given that Forsyth County spent $1.5 million dollars last year in legal expenses for the county! This is just for one year! Are we really in a position to waste taxpayers dollars?
The likelihood of the county winning this suit is extremely slim. This outcome will be similar in fashion to the county’s other lawsuits. They will lose.
We need to hold our commissioners accountable for the money spent. If they want to sue the government, then perhaps they should be willing to foot the bill personally if the lawsuit is lost.
