Lambert grad Christina Johnson made a little history in the Lee University women’s basketball team’s 66-44 victory against Mississippi College on Monday.
Johnson, a junior forward, set a school single-game record with 16 rebounds, to go along with six points, three steals and two assists.
But, really, that’s what Johnson does for the Lady Flames. Monday was the fourth time in five games Johnson had double-digit rebounds. It topped her previous career-high of 15 rebounds against West Georgia on Jan. 3.
Johnson leads the team with 8.3 rebounds a game, good for sixth in the Gulf South Conference.
She’s been a big reason Lee is 9-4 overall and 6-4 in its first year as a member of the GSC.
