Track: Lambert's Jordan Smith commits to run at Vanderbilt
The Grind - Jordan Smith

Lambert track and field senior Jordan Smith, one of the best 400-meter runners in the state, committed on Wednesday to run in college at Vanderbilt University.

Smith didn't start running the 400 on a full-time basis until her junior season last year, but she quickly became a star in the event. She ran a 55.95 to win the Region 5-7A championship by more than three seconds, and Smith went on to finish fifth in the state in the event. She set a new personal best in the event this month at the Coaches' Invitational, finishing in 54.94.

Smith becomes the third Forsyth County senior to sign or commit to the Commodores: West Forsyth tight end Ben Bresnahan signed to play football at Vanderbilt and is currently enrolled in the university, and Forsyth Central pitcher Ethan Hankins is signed with the Commodores, though he is likely to be picked early in the MLB Draft.
