CORNELIA – North Forsyth couldn’t stop Habersham Central running back Michael Babers in a 32-7 loss Friday in a Region 6-AAAAAA game on the road.
Babers rushed for three touchdowns for Habersham (1-8, 1-7) and helped snap a 21-game losing streak dating back to Oct. 19, 2012, the longest in school history. Babers ran for scores of 10, 10 and 1 yard, respectively.
Mason Kinsey hauled in a 68-yard touchdown catch from Habersham quarterback Bennett Black, and Marcus Wilbanks added a 41-yard touchdown run in the third quarter to ice the game.
North quarterback Jacob Bailey gave the Raiders (1-8, 1-7) their only points of the game on a 1-yard score in the third quarter that cut Habersham’s lead to 25-7.
