No. 6-ranked South Forsyth’s volleyball season came to an end on Saturday when the No. 2 Harrison Hoyas earned a 3-0 (25-20, 25-16, 25-21) victory in the state quarterfinals in Kennesaw.
Harrison improved to 48-6 for the season.
South’s Jordan Hawk boasted seven kills, while Taylor Svehla and Rachel Croce added six kills. Hannah Shanley paced the team with 14 digs and Kelli McCravy recorded 17 assists in the loss.
"The game was a tremendous match," South head coach Kelly Wren said. "We executed our plan, but Harrison has 15 years of playoff experience getting to the top eight or top four.
"We were up by six points at one time, but [Harrison] is a good team."
South graduates only two players, so Wren expects to field another successful team next season.
The Lady War Eagles ended the season 34-19 overall, their best finish since they won 39 games during the 2007 season.
