The community is invited to celebrate Forsyth County’s blend of growth and success during an annual dinner meeting.

“Forsyth fusion” is the theme of this year’s Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Dinner, which will be held Oct. 25 at the Lanier Technical College Forsyth Conference Center.

Laura Stewart, the chamber’s director of communications and events, said the festivities begin with a cocktail hour at 6:30 p.m. followed by the meal at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $150 per person. Tables of 10 can be reserved, although there is no discount.

The annual meeting is probably the best attended chamber of commerce function of the year, typically drawing about 500 guests.

Stewart said probably the most anticipated portion of the annual meeting is the presentation of what is considered by many as the county’s highest recognition of community service.

“The presentation of the prestigious Charles F. Welch Award is always special,” Stewart said. “It’s given to someone who is a lifelong resident of the county, who has dedicated their life to giving back to the community.”

The event will also reflect on the chamber’s successes of the past year, while addressing some of the plans for the future.

“We’ll meet to showcase the accomplishments over the course of 2013 and we’ll introduce our incoming chair of our board of directors for 2014,” Stewart said.

Besides dinner and the business program, the event will also offer live music for dancing from the Infinity Show Band of Atlanta.

Dress for the evening is black-tie optional, although Stewart said dressy business attire is acceptable.

Anyone interested in purchasing tickets to the annual meeting should do so on the chamber’s website,, or by calling the office at (770) 887-6461.
