Forsyth County is holding an auction Saturday to sell its surplus cars, trucks, buses, electronics, furniture and office equipment.

The auction site, 843 Canton Highway in Cumming, will be open for preview of items from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and again at 8 a.m. Saturday.

Director of Fleet Services Avery Gravitt will moderate the event, with bidding to begin at 9 a.m. Saturday.

"The live auction gives local taxpayers and other buyers an opportunity to purchase items ... at very reasonable prices," Gravitt said.

In order to bid in the auction, buyers must obtain a bidder's number.

Acceptable payment methods include cash, credit card (3 percent processing fee will apply), cashier's check and personal or company check (with a current bank letter of guarantee).

Full payment must be made on the day of the auction, and items should be removed from the auction site following the event. Gates close at 4 p.m.

All items are sold as is, with no warranties or guarantees. The event will be held rain or shine, and concessions will be available.
