A heart care lab at Northside Hospital-Forsyth has been awarded a three-year accreditation.
The Intersocietal Accreditation Commission, or IAC, recently granted the accreditation to the local hospital’s echocardiography lab, which provides cardiac ultrasound procedures.
According to information from the hospital, the IAC grants accreditation only to facilities that are found to be providing quality patient care in compliance with national standards.
Liz Sobczyk, director of cardiovascular services at Northside, praised the lab’s staff for their hard work in helping the facility achieve the accreditation.
“This demonstrates Northside’s commitment to higher standards and to enhancing the quality of care for our heart patients at each of our facilities,” she said in a statement.
“IAC accreditation is a ‘seal of approval’ that patients can rely on as an indication that the facility has been carefully critiqued on all aspects of its operations that are considered relevant by medical experts in the field of cardiology.”
