The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office is requesting residents’ assistance in identifying two men who robbed a south Forsyth restaurant at gunpoint Saturday evening.

Mangia Ristorante and Pizzeria is located at 5354 McGinnis Ferry Road and was robbed about 10:30 p.m. Sept. 16, according to Deputy Doug Rainwater, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office.

“Two black males armed with handguns approached the owner outside the business and demanded money,” he said. “They then took the owner back inside the restaurant, where he gave them cash from the registers.

“The [suspects] were wearing gloves, and after receiving cash and [the owner’s] cellphone and the phone of another employee inside the business, they left on foot. They then got into a car and left the area.”

No one was injured in the incident, which the sheriff’s office’s Major Crimes Unit is investigating.

Deputies believe the suspects left in a tan- or bronze-colored sedan and are asking anyone with information or who may have seen “suspicious persons or activity near Flynn’s Crossing” to call the agency’s 24-hour phone line at (770) 781-3087.

The men are described as 5’8” to 5’10” and were dressed in dark clothing.

Rainwater said the area will be subject to increased patrols for the foreseeable future.
