GAINESVILLE — A truck submerged in Lake Lanier at Little River Park was determined Wednesday to have been stolen from Gwinnett County, authorities said.

According to Hall County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Nicole Bailes, a diver with the agency’s underwater search and rescue unit inspected the truck about 3 p.m. to confirm nobody was inside.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers assisted the sheriff’s office with finding the vehicle.

“The case will be turned over to property investigators,” Bailes said.
