EAST FORSYTH — A search for a possible burglar caused a noticeable Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office presence Thursday night in the area of Buford Dam Road east of Cumming.

According to Epifanio Rodriguez, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office, a woman called 911 after she returned about 8 p.m. to see an unknown man running out of her home.

The home is reportedly near the Lanier Golf Club.

The case remains an open investigation because a suspect was not found, Rodriguez said.

Nothing was reported stolen, which authorities attributed to the homeowner catching the man in the act, and no one was injured.

The suspect was described only as a man with a mustache and goatee.
