A Dawsonville man died in a single-vehicle wreck Sunday afternoon on Elliott Family Parkway.
According to Georgia State Patrol Spokeswoman Robin Stone, the wreck occurred around 4:55 p.m. July 24.
James Everett Evans, 75, was driving a 1992 Ford Ranger and was traveling south on Elliott Family Parkway. While entering a left-hand curve, the vehicle traveled off the west shoulder, causing Evans to steer left, according to the report.
"The vehicle traveled across both lanes, off the east shoulder, traveling down an embankment and striking a tree with its left front fender and driver side door before overturning onto its right side, where it came to a final rest," Stone said.
Evans was pronounced dead at the scene.
Stone said he was not wearing a seat belt.
The road was closed between Hwy. 53 West and Howser Mill Road for an hour and a half.
