An adult male suffered non-life threatening injuries Monday morning after the dump truck he was driving overturned on Pilgrim Mill Road between Freedom Parkway and Pilgrim Mill Circle just east of Ga. 400.

The 911 call initially came in as an entrapment, but the man was able to climb out of the truck by the time firefighters arrived, according to Deputy Doug Rainwater, a spokesman for the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.

“He was driving east and was [negotiating] a curve when the gravel on the truck shifted,” Rainwater said. “The weight shift forced the truck onto its side, but he was able to climb out and was transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.”

Pilgrim Mill Road was partially closed as personnel worked to clean up the gravel, which spilled into a yard, and upright the truck.

The driver will likely not be charged, Rainwater said, due to circumstances out of his control causing the crash.
