Board names five principals
Veteran Forsyth educators to change schools in 2009-10

The Forsyth County school system has named new five new school principals for the 2009-10 school year.  

Announced Friday, each of the five appointments is a veteran educator from within the system.

They include: Sherri Black at Big Creek Elementary; Rebecca Johnson at Chestatee Elementary; Pam Pajerski at Cumming Elementary; Tracey Smith at Mashburn Elementary; and Sandy Tinsley at South Forsyth Middle.

Each of the women currently serves as assistant principal at another local school.

A closer look at the principals:

· Black comes to Big Creek from Shiloh Point Elementary. She previously served as assistant principal at Big Creek, Settles Bridge and Cumming elementary schools, as well as director of elementary summer school and extended school year in 2007.

· Johnson heads to Chestatee from Coal Mountain Elementary, where she serves as assistant principal. She has also served as a teacher at Mashburn.

· Pajerski, Cumming's appointee, is a current assistant principal at Silver City Elementary. Prior to that, she served as quality work facilitator at Silver City.

· Smith is currently assistant principal at Mashburn. She has also worked as a teacher at Cumming Elementary and assistant principal at both Chattahoochee and Matt elementary schools.

. Tinsley comes to South Forsyth from Otwell Middle. Prior to her current role, she worked as a teacher at North Forsyth Middle, a quality work facilitator and assistant principal at Vickery Creek Middle.
