A stop work order was issued last week for a development in west Forsyth that was erroneously given documents to move ahead.
On June 30, a development at the east side of Post Road and south side of Majors Road, which is across the street from Vickery Village, was ordered by the county to stop work until plans are approved by county commissioners, as required by the original zoning.
Commission Chairman Todd Levent said a site development permit was erroneously given by a county employee and that the approved zoning required any plans to be reviewed and approved by commissioners before moving ahead.
The applicant for the project is Your Extra Attic, an indoor self-storage company with locations in Acworth, Johns Creek, Roswell, Suwanee, Vinings and Windward Parkway.
Levent indicated the use was too extreme for an out parcel.
The zoning covers about two acres, which is tied to a larger zoning for a fitness facility.
Levent said the matter will come back before commissioners at a later date.
