Multi-car pileup snarls traffic on Ga. 400

Forsyth County News

Traffic slowed into north Forsyth County on Friday afternoon following a three-vehicle wreck.

Both lanes of Ga. 400 north were shut down just before Keith Bridge Road for about 45 minutes after the crash about 1:30 p.m., according to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.

No one was seriously hurt in the accident, but five people were taken to area hospitals with minor injuries, according to Sheriff’s Maj. Rick Doyle.

However, the corridor was closed to clean oil and antifreeze that spilled from one of the vehicles.

During the closure, Doyle said, traffic was diverted through Exit 17 back onto the highway.

The detour caused a traffic backup on what was an already congested stretch of road as shoppers headed north into Dawson County and the outlet mall near Dawsonville.
