A local company is giving the community a chance to burn some calories before eating their Christmas desserts.
On Saturday, North Georgia Running will host the Santa Shuffle, and the race will feature a 5K, 10K and kids’ fun run for those 10 and under. The race will benefit Talk about Curing Autism and will start and end at Shiloh Point Elementary School for all runners.
“It’s just a lot of fun for the community,” said Natalie Salvador with North Georgia Running. “Santa is going to be there … and a lot of people in the Christmas spirit. They dress up. Last year we had a Christmas tree, a snowman.”
To make the event more festive, all runners will be given a Santa hat.
The 5K and 10K will start racing at 8 a.m., and the fun run will follow at 9:15 a.m.
Awards will be given for best overall male and female, masters male and female and awards for age groups.
Registration can be done online at RunsSignUp.com/Race/GA/Cumming/TheSantaShuffle5k or in-person on race day at the school starting at 6:45 a.m. Shiloh Point is at 8145 Majors Road.
