This month, Judge Philip C. Smith of the Forsyth County Superior Court was re-elected to serve on the Board of Governors for the State Bar of Georgia, according to a recent news release by the State Bar of Georgia.
The release states that Smith will continue to represent the Bell-Forsyth Judicial Circuit on the board.
Smith earned his law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law and was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1979, the release states. He previously served as the Bell-Forsyth Judicial Circuit District Attorney and as chief judge of the Forsyth County State Court.
In this role, the release states that Smith is just one of “the 160-member policymaking authority of the State Bar, with representation from each of Georgia’s judicial circuits.”
