Two women were injured Tuesday morning when a sport utility vehicle crashed into the front window of the Starbucks at Market Place Boulevard and Hwy. 20.
The women, whose names were not immediately released, were taken to Northside Hospital-Forsyth. Forsyth County Sheriff's Capt. Tim House said their injuries were not life threatening.
The women had apparently been sitting at a table inside the store when a Lexus RX300 ran over a handicapped parking sign and into the window.
The 66-year-old driver declined medical treatment at the scene.
House said the driver, whose name he did not have, reportedly hit the accelerator instead of the brakes. He said no charges were expected.
Randyne Leggett was sitting at a table not far from the two women who were injured.
"I turned and saw the car coming through the window," Leggett said. "There was glass flying everywhere, drinks flying everywhere ... an outside table was pushed inside."
While the incident was scary and loud, Leggett said everyone remained calm and employees and customers tried to help the women.
