Open houses planned for road, design projects announced

Forsyth County residents will soon have a chance to give their thoughts on upcoming road and design projects. Here are a few of the open house events that are coming up soon.

Hwy. 9 planning study

What: A public information open house to give input on a planning study on the road between Hwys. 306 and 369 to “develop viable, multimodal and cost-effective mobility solutions and to study the feasibility of short-range and long-range alternatives in improving the efficiency, operations and safety” on Hwy. 9. Engineering staff will be on site to answer questions.

When: Wednesday, Feb. 26, 6-8 p.m.

Where: Coal Mountain Elementary School, 3455 Coal Mountain Drive


Old Atlanta Road widening

What: An information session on the upcoming road widening from James Burgess to St. Marlow Country Club Parkway. Engineering staff will be available to take questions, and written statements will be accepted through Sunday, March 15 and can be sent to:

South Forsyth design standards

What: Residents will be able to give their thoughts on commercial and design standards for south Forsyth at a drop-in style meeting. The standards are “being created to help support a stronger identity for south Forsyth” and will include a logo and tagline for the area.
