We must take back our government

I’m writing in reference to special meetings to raise taxes (11 am. and 5 p.m. on July 14, final meeting 5 p.m. July 30). We don’t need to start in Washington to start controlling our spending. We need to start at home. My taxes have over doubled in five short years, same property in economic slow down has risen from $7,900 in 2004 to and estimated $19,000 for 2009. Appraisal has gone from $579,000 in 2004 to $1.8 million total in last five years when values have drastically dropped?

We have to stand up and be counted. We first stop this craziness at our local level, then state, then national level. Let’s have a tea party on July 30 and let our commissioners know we mean business about cutting taxes, not incresing taxes. We’re not communist or totalitarian yet, but will be if we don’t stand up. Let’s be proud Americans and take our government back. If, as I believe, the Republican mantra is live within your means and smalerl government is better government, then practice what you preach or let our city council manage your affairs, as they live within their budget.
