Lambert senior attacker Sean Carruthers and goalie Garrett Gomez were named state all-Americans, leading five Longhorns players selected to the 2014 Georgia High School Boys’ All-State Team released Monday. Carruthers and Gomez helped lead Lambert to a 14-4 record going into the Longhorns’ game against North Gwinnett in the first round of the Class AAAAAA playoffs Tuesday at 6 p.m. Both were picked to the all-state first team. Lambert defender Dillon Alexander was named second team all-state, while Michael Morrison was named an academic all-American.
