PREP ROUNDUP: Bidwell's buzzer-beater bounces Central from tourney

West Forsyth junior Broc Bidwell traveled the length of the court to score the game-winning bucket Tuesday during the Wolverines' 66-65 win against Forsyth Central in the first round of the Region 5-7A tournament. 

Bidwell inbounded the ball with 4.5 seconds left in the game, got the ball back, split a couple of Central defenders and floated a teardrop through the net as the buzzer sounded. 

West Forsyth (17-8), which is guaranteed a spot in the Class 7A state playoffs, will face Milton at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the semifinals at Forsyth Central High School, while the Bulldogs finish the season 9-17.


South Forsyth 65, Lambert 55

South Forsyth punched its ticket to the Region 5-7A tournament semifinals Tuesday with a 65-55 win against Lambert. 

Eight different players scored at least one point for the War Eagles (17-9), who will face North Forsyth at 7 p.m. Wednesday, with the winner advancing to the tournament championship game.
