Lambert 58, Johns Creek 35
Molly Williams scored 20 points and the Lady Longhorns cruised to a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Friday at home in their regular season finale.
Lambert ends the regular season at 14-11 overall and 9-9 in the region, an impressive improvement from last season when the Lady Longhorns went 6-19 and won just one region game.
Lambert will face Centennial on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Chattahoochee High School in the Region 6-AAAAAA tournament.
Pinecrest Academy 46, Walker 45
MARIETTA – Margaret Metz had 18 points and the Lady Paladins survived with a Region 6-A, Div. B victory Friday on the road in their regular season finale.
Pinecrest had a tougher time with Walker than in the teams’ previous meeting Jan. 13, when the Lady Paladins cruised to a 64-29 win.
Regardless, Pinecrest ends the regular season 17-8 overall and 8-4 in the sub-region.
West Forsyth 48, Chattahoochee 30
ALPHARETTA – Jenna Staiti had 18 points and the Lady Wolverines cruised to a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Friday on the road in their regular season finale.
Kalie Schlegel added nine points for West (20-5, 15-3), Jane Ortlip scored eight and Abby Quincy had six.
The two teams get to meet again soon: The Lady Wolverines will face Chattahoochee on Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Chattahoochee High School in the Region 6-AAAAAA tournament.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Forsyth Central 50, River Ridge 47
CANTON – Eli Brown scored 13 points and the Bulldogs edged the Knights to advance in the Region 7-AAAAA tournament at Creekview High School.
Parker Bierder grabbed 10 rebounds for Central (7-19), who will play Sequoyah at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Patrick Noble had 21 points and the Longhorns cruised to a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Friday at home in their regular season finale.
Ross Morkem added 18 points and 13 rebounds for Lambert (20-5, 15-3), which will face the Habersham Central-South Forsyth winner on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Chattahoochee High School in the region tournament.
Walker 70, Pinecrest Academy 66
MARIETTA – Nick Palmer surpassed 1,000 points for his career but it wasn’t enough as the Paladins lost Friday in its regular season finale.
Palmer scored 28 points and tied a school record with eight 3s as Pinecrest ended its season at 10-15 overall and 4-8 in Region 6-A, Div. B.
Chattahoochee 60, West Forsyth 44
ALPHARETTA – Jimmy Staiti reached a career milestone but the Wolverines dropped a Region 6-AAAAAA game in their regular season finale.
Staiti had 22 points and 12 rebounds and surpassed the 1,000-point mark for his career.
West will face Northview on Monday at 8:30 p.m. at Chattahoochee High School in the region tournament.
