PREP ROUNDUP: Forsyth Central girls soccer defeats No. 1-ranked Milton

It was almost statement enough for the Forsyth Central girls soccer team that they entered the Class 7A rankings this week at No. 9.

Then the Bulldogs made an even bigger statement in a 2-1 victory against No. 1-ranked Milton on Tuesday in a Region 5-7A game.

Callie Fagan and Jenna Uldrich scored for Central (9-2-1, 5-1), while Alaina Giangiobbe was stout in goal against a powerful Milton attack.

Pinecrest Academy 8, North Cobb Christian 0

Six different players scored for the Paladins in a Region 6-1A victory Tuesday on the road.

Pinecrest (3-7-0, 2-2) got goals from Sofia Alvarez del Pino, Sarah Brown, Regina Metz, Meghan Sullivan, Ali Doerr and Jalen Moreno.


Forsyth Central 2, Milton 0

Vinny Pinherio and Uriel Romero each had a goal as the Bulldogs earned a Region 5-7A victory Tuesday.

Juan Gonzalez earned the shutout in goal for Central (6-5-1, 2-4), which avenged a 1-0 loss to Milton on Feb. 20.

Pinecrest Academy 10, North Cobb Christian 0

Six different players scored as the Paladins earned a Region 6-1A victory Tuesday on the road.

No. 4-ranked Pinecrest (7-3-1, 4-0) got goals from Gabe Villar, Ben Rivard, Connor Sassine, Arturo Munguia, Matt Stone and Kane Alvarez del Pino.


North Forsyth 15, West Forsyth 3

Garrett Staton went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI as the Raiders cruised to a Region 5-7A victory Tuesday.

Tyler Fairchild got the win for North (13-3, 2-2), allowing three runs (two earned) on four walks and two hits while striking out seven in five innings.

And Fairchild got plenty of support early on as the Raiders scored 11 runs in the top of the second inning.

Carter Mullikin and Caleb Vercek both had three RBI, while Evan Johnson went 3-for-3 with an RBI. Colin Sanders, Clayton Bardall and Nicky DalMolin also drove in runs for North, while Miles Hartsfield went 2-for-4 with a double.


Pinecrest Academy 15, Greater Atlanta Christian 8

Molly Dankowski scored seven goals and the Paladins earned an Area 3-1/5A victory Tuesday at home.

Alex Tilkin had three goals and two assists for Pinecrest (5-1, 1-0), Ella Binkley had two goals and an assist and Nika Brown added two goals.


Riverside Military 8, Pinecrest Academy 5

Robert Binkley scored two goals but the Paladins dropped a non-area game Tuesday.

Pinecrest (3-6, 1-2 Area 3-1/5A) also got goals from Eli Karaki, Hogan Palmer and David Stubbs.
