Mount Pisgah 5, Pinecrest Academy 3
Will Patota went 2-for-3 with a double but it wasn’t enough as the Paladins dropped a Region 6-A game Tuesday at home.
Pinecrest had actually tied the game at 5-5 in the bottom of the sixth and had a runner in scoring position, but the game was called due to darkness. Since the inning wasn’t completed, the Paladins’ run didn’t count.
Ben Gobbel also went 2-for-3 with a double for Pinecrest, while Ryan McCarthy had a hit and two walks.
Lambert 12, Roswell 1
Four different players scored two goals as the No. 1-ranked Longhorns defeated the two-time defending AAAAAA state champions Tuesday in a non-area game at home.
Jonny DiVirgilio led the way with two goals and three assists for Lambert (x-x, 1-0 3-AAAAAA), while Eric Overbay and Harrison Petrovich each had two goals and two assists and Alex Walker added two goals. Morgan Cone also scored a goal, while Trey Arnold won 13 of 16 faceoffs to go along with a goal.
Ben Stump had seven saves in goal. Trevor Holmes had a team-high eight groundballs, while Jaryd Jean-Felix had six. Brady Berman forced two turnovers.
South Forsyth 16, Wheeler 8
MARIETTA – Kyle Frederiksen, Andrew Lempner and Will Wykoff each scored four goals as the War Eagles earned a non-area victory Tuesday on the road.
Max Kane added two goals for South (2-2, 0-1 3-AAAAAAA), while Jake Meersman and Conner Travis each scored one goal apiece.
Pinecrest Academy 20, Riverwood 11
Alex Tilkin had nine goals and three assists as the Lady Paladins earned an Area 3-A/AAAAA victory Tuesday at home.
Molly Dankowski added six goals and four assists for Pinecrest (2-0, 1-0), while Nike Brown had three goals and Sarah DiFazio had one goal and five assists.
West Forsyth 15, Etowah 8
WOODSTOCK – Madison Mueller had six goals and one assist as the Lady Wolverines pulled out a non-area victory Tuesday on the road in a game that ended early because of lightning.
West (4-0, 1-0 3-AAAAAA) trailed 5-3 in the first half, but scored seven straight to take a 10-5 lead into halftime and never look back.
Kelly Guthrie had four goals and an assist, Sarah Grady had two goals and two assists while Maggie Dickman added two goals.
Ella Madson scored a goal, and Lauren Doherty had an assist.
Forsyth Central 2, Dawson County 0
Kara Slaughter and Jenna Ulrich scored goals and the Lady Bulldogs earned a non-region victory Tuesday at home.
The win extended Central’s (6-1, 0-1 7-AAAAA, Div. B) winning streak to six games during which the Lady Bulldogs have out-scored opponents 18-1.
South Forsyth 10, Flowery Branch 0
Jenna Vollrath had two goals and an assist as the Lady War Eagles cruised to a non-region victory Tuesday at home.
Nikki Bario added a goal and three assists for No. 4-ranked South (4-0, 1-0 6-AAAAAA).
Nine different players in all scored for the Lady War Eagles, including Hunter Blanchard, Lindsey Francingues, Reagan Smith, Amanda Mikus, Riley McBride and Allyson Peppenhorst.
McKenna Galioto and Courtney O’Malley combined for the shutout in goal.
West Forsyth 6, Habersham Central 2
Carsen Parker had a hat-trick as the Lady Wolverines cruised to a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Tuesday at home.
Brooke Pirkle added two goals for West (4-1, 2-0), while Kylie Gazza also scored a goal.
