Forsyth Central 16, Riverwood 1

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back in a Region 7-AAAAA, Div. B victory Wednesday at home.

Ethan Hankins got the win for Central (11-3, 8-1), allowing just one run on one hit while striking out seven in four innings.

Pierce Nufer led the Bulldogs with three RBI, while Hunter Joyner and Parker Morrison each drove in two runs. Robbie Repasz and Taylor Bauman each added a hit.

Lambert 10, West Forsyth 4

Zach Graveno helped the Longhorns sweep their county and Region 6-AAAAAA rival Wednesday at home.

Graveno got the win for Lambert (10-4, 7-1), allowing no runs on two hits while striking out four in five strong innings.

The Longhorns struck in bunches early, scoring four in the bottom of the second, two in the third and three in the fourth to jump out to a 9-0 lead they wouldn’t relinquish.

Michael Raiano was 2-for-4 with two RBI for Lambert, Jake Tomelevage went 3-for-4, Will Gabbert was 2-for-4 with a RBI and Parker Scruggs had a hit and two runs scored.

Mason McWhorter led West (8-6, 6-2) with three RBI, all of which came during a four-run sixth inning for the Wolverines.

North Forsyth 16, Habersham Central 6

MT. AIRY – Cory Campbell was 2-for-3 with four RBI as North cruised to a Region 6-AAAAAA series sweep Wednesday on the road.

Trevor Rhys got the win for North (10-4, 6-2), striking out four in 2 2/3 innings. J.B. Finnemore added five strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings.

North got plenty of offensive contributions from Carter Mullikin (2-for-3, HR, 3RBI), Bailey Gerstner (2-for-3), Tyler Koch (2-for-3) and Kyle Martin (2-for-4).

Pinecrest Acadmey 12, Excel Christian 0

CARTERSVILLE – Jake Mangan struck five in five shutout innings while the Paladins pounded 17 hits in a non-region victory Tuesday on the road.

Will Patota and Matt Walters each went 3-for-4 with a double, while Ben Gobbel also had three hits.

South Forsyth 9, Johns Creek 8

JOHNS CREEK – Max Schmal had a double and three RBI as the War Eagles dealt the Gladiators their first Region 6-AAAAAA loss Wednesday on the road.

Alec Kliphouse got the win for South (9-5, 4-4), allowing eight runs (six earned) on 11 hits and two walks while striking out nine in seven innings.

Alex Andronica went 1-for-5 with a home run and two RBI, Brett Graczyk and Bradley Prince Jr. each had two hits, Matt Bapst added an RBI and Connor McKnight had a double and two runs scored.


North Forsyth 17, Riverside Military 6

Colton Rudd had four goals and four assists as the Raiders cruised to a non-area victory Wednesday at home.

Sam Grogan added three goals and two assists for North (6-5, 0-4 3-AAAAAA).

Chase Chapman had a goal and eight assists, while the Raiders also big contributions from Tucker Brady (3G, 1A), Mason Jolley (2G, 1A), Tucker Davis (2G), Evan Smith (1G), Nick Moskovkin (1G), Shaun Herock (18-for-20 faceoffs), Jacob Day (3 saves) and Jake Hurley (3 saves).  

Wesleyan 14, Pinecrest Academy 8

Jack Binkley had three goals and two assists but it wasn’t enough as the Paladins dropped an Area 3-A/AAAAA game Tuesday at home.

Garrison Winter had 13 saves for Pinecrest.

West Forsyth 13, Brookwood 4

SNELLVILLE – Justin Kabo had four goals as the Wolverines cruised to a non-area victory Tuesday on the road.

Other scores: Cambridge 17, Forsyth Central 1.


Wesleyan 15, Pinecrest Academy 11

Alex Tilkin had five goals but it wasn’t enough as the Lady Paladins dropped an Area 3-A/AAAAA game Tuesday at home.

Molly Dankowski added three goals and four assists for Pinecrest (5-3, 5-2), while Sarah DiFazio had two goals and three assists and Ella Binkley had a goal.


Cambridge 4, Forsyth Central 2

The Bulldogs couldn’t match the Bears in a Region 7-AAAAA, Div. B loss Tuesday at home.

Central (7-5, 1-4) got goals from Conner Hicks and Ale Romero with assists from Gavin Mitchell and Jorge Garcia Vega.

North Forsyth 4, Fannin County

BLUE RIDGE – Holt Roberts had two goals and an assist as the Raiders cruised to a non-region victory Wednesday on the road.

Zach Gilbert and Yaw Parry scored the other goals for North (1-11, 0-6 6-AAAAAA), while Branson Willingham had an assist.

Johns Creek 3, West Forsyth 2

Ivan Morales had two goals but it wasn’t enough as the Wolverines dropped a Region 6-AAAAAA game Tuesday at home.

Other scores: Alpharetta 5, North Forsyth 0.


North Forsyth 4, Fannin County 0

BLUE RIDGE – Four different players scored for the Lady Raiders in a non-region victory Wednesday on the road.

North (3-8-1, 0-6 6-AAAAAA) got goals from Canby Biddle, Alex Chesna, Kristina Evans and Gigi Fulkerson, while Olivia Dumphy had two assists and goalkeeper Kat Fisher made two saves to preserve the shutout.

West Forsyth 0 (4), Johns Creek 0 (2)

The Lady Wolverines survived in penalty kicks for a Region 6-AAAAAA win Tuesday at home that thrust them into first place.

West improved to 8-3 overall and 5-0 in the region.
