SOFTBALL

Lambert 18, Centennial 0

ROSWELL – Rachel Cowart and Marissa Guimbarda hit home runs and the Lady Longhorns cruised to a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Friday on the road.

Catie Rose Hays got the win for Lambert (12-9, 11-3), allowing no hits or runs over three innings.

North Forsyth 9, Habersham Central 3

MT. AIRY – Morgan Franklin had a double and three RBI and the Lady Raiders cruised to a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Thursday on the road to clinch a state playoff berth.

Sara King got the win for North (19-5, 12-3), allowing one earned run on six hits while striking out two in four innings. Amber Jones pitched three innings of relief to get the save.

Haley Simpson went 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI, Payton Martin was 2-for-3 with a RBI and Bella Caracciolo added a solo home run.

South Forsyth 9, Johns Creek 4

Sofia Tapia and Emily Thompson each drove in two runs and the Lady War Eagles got a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Thursday at home.

Katherine Huey got the win for South (16-3, 12-1), allowing two runs (one earned) on one walk and seven hits while striking out five in six innings.

Bianca Mora went 2-for-4 with a home run, Jordyn Harris went 2-for-4 and Kayla Mayoros had an RBI.

VOLLEYBALL

Lambert sweeps tri-match

ROSWELL – Ashley Cruise had 21 kills as the Lady Longhorns defeated East Coweta (25-20, 25-14) and Roswell (25-18, 25-18) in non-area matches Thursday on the road.

Kendal Barrett had 37 assists for Lambert.

Against Roswell, Jordyn Moellering had 11 digs and Madeleine Bertz added five kills, while Savannah Beer had 14 digs against East Coweta.

North Forsyth sweeps tri-match

GAINESVILLE – Marin Black had seven aces as the Lady Raiders defeated Flowery Branch (25-19, 25-13) and West Hall (25-3, 25-13) in non-area matches Thursday on the road.
