MACON – The close call didn’t go North Forsyth’s way as the Raiders were eliminated in the Class AAAAAA consolation bracket at the GHSA Team Duals Wrestling Championships at the Macon Centreplex on Friday.

North lost 33-30 in the quarterfinals to Etowah after rallying from down 25-12 to take a 30-25 lead. But the Raiders lost the final two matches of the dual to fall into the consolation bracket where they defeated Lee County (39-28) but lost to Mountain View (31-20).

Tanner Buggs (160 pounds) and Hunter Loyd (170) each went 3-0 during the tournament, while Conner Carroll (152) went 2-0.


Forsyth Central 44, Riverwood 38

Julie Richards had 15 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Lady Bulldogs to a Region 7-AAAAA, Div. B victory Friday at home.

Peyton Ledford added 11 points for Central (8-11, 6-1), which rebounded from its loss Tuesday to Kell to stay in first place.

Lambert 45, Northview 42

The Lady Longhorns used a balanced attack for a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Friday at home.

Corrie Baker, Leah Cote, ME Craven and Molly Williams each scored eight points for Lambert (9-10, 4-8).

Alex Russell grabbed 11 rebounds for the Lady Horns.

South Forsyth 67, Centennial 48

ROSWELL - Sarah Myers and Shelby Threlkeld had 16 points each as the Lady War Eagles cruised to a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Friday on the road.

KK Storms added 14 points for No. 4-ranked South (16-2, 11-0), while Mari Jonassen added 12.


Riverwood 50, Forsyth Central 42

Cale Jackson had 22 points but it wasn’t enough as the Bulldogs dropped a Region 7-AAAAA, Div. B game Friday at home.

It was Central’s 10th straight loss to drop it to 5-14 overall and 2-5 in the region.

Lambert 89, Northview 53

Andrew Melms had 14 points to lead a balanced effort for the Longhorns in a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Friday at home.

Tanner Hall had 13 points for Lambert (16-3, 11-1), Jake Morris scored 11 while Ross Morkem and Connor Mannion each added 10 points.

Mount Pisgah 58, Pinecrest Academy 56

John Crone had 15 points but it wasn’t enough as the Paladins lost a Region 6-A, Div. B game Friday at home.

Ryan McCarthy had 14 points and 12 rebounds for Pinecrest (6-12, 2-5), which dropped its fifth game by two points or less this season.

Centennial 65, South Forsyth 27

ROSWELL – The War Eagles struggled in a Region 6-AAAAAA loss Friday on the road.

Evan Cole had eight points to lead South (4-12, 4-7), which dropped its third straight game.
