North Forsyth 3, South Warren (Ky.) 1
The Raiders’ pitching trio of Tyler Triche, Garrett Sagro and Matthew Gist combined for nine strikeouts and allowed just one hit over seven innings on Monday, with only one unearned run coming across in the third. South Warren took a 1-0 lead with that run, but North responded with a two-RBI double from Bennett Helms in the fourth and a fielder’s choice off the bat of Preston Hedelius in the fifth. The Raiders improved to 14-7 overall with the victory.
Buford 9, Lambert 4
Lambert fell behind early against the Wolves on Monday, and although the Longhorns made it a 4-3 game by the end of the sixth, a five-run top of the seventh for Buford ultimately put the game away for good. Jonathan Hemings, Jacob Keenan and Kyle Meyers each totaled RBIs for Lambert. Braden Bamburowski allowed three earned runs and struck out four over his six innings of work. Lambert dropped to 6-17 overall with the loss.
West Forsyth 11, Woodland 6
Both teams opened Monday’s matchup with two runs, but despite allowing a four-run Wildcat inning in the third, the Wolverines scored six unanswered runs over the next two frames to eventually earn the win. Wyatt Crowell and Drew Southern led West with 2-for-3 performances at the plate, with Southern bringing in four runs. Barrett Roland, Marc Ellenburg and Miller Jones pitched in with two RBIs each. West now stands at 7-12 overall.
Crestview (Fla.) 6, Denmark 5
Denmark wasn’t able to hold on to a 5-4 lead in the seventh inning on Monday, and fell to Crestview by way of a two-run walk-off home run. The game started as a low-scoring affair, with Crestview holding a 1-0 lead after five innings. The Danes scored two runs on an error in the sixth to take the lead and added three more in the seventh on a Trevor Byrk triple and a Nic Ferrer single, but Crestview scored enough in the last two hectic innings to keep up. The Danes fell to 7-13 overall with the loss.
North Forsyth 14, Mandarin (Fla.) 7
