PREP ROUNDUP: South Forsyth volleyball defeats No. 1-ranked Cambridge

Alana Frye went 4-for-4 with a double, home run and four RBI as West Forsyth softball cruised to a 12-4 victory against Johns Creek in a Region 6-AAAAAA game Thursday at home.

Kelly Carpenter got the win for West (5-3, 2-1), striking out three, but Carpenter was also a force at the plate going 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI.

Other strong contributors for West were Bailley Concatto (2-for-4, three runs), Hayla Seitz (2-for-4, three runs, RBI), Abbey Poe (1-for-2, two RBI) and Morgan Koepke (2-for-2, RBI).

North Forsyth 8, Alpharetta 0

ALPHARETTA – The Lady Raiders cruised to a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Thursday on the road.

North improved to 7-1 overall and 3-1 in the region.


South sweeps tri-match

MILTON – Amanda Nugent had 22 kills and the Lady War Eagles swept a tri-match Thursday on the road.

South (6-3) defeated Cambridge (25-18, 22-25, 25-13), the No. 1 ranked team in Class AAAAA, and Mount Pisgah (25-5, 25-10).

Erin Yeatman had 47 digs for the Lady War Eagles, while Courtney Darling added 42 assists.

Collins Hill 3, Forsyth Central 0

Amber Walsh had 29 digs but it wasn’t enough as the Lady Bulldogs dropped a non-area match Thursday at home.

Central lost 23-25, 19-25, 21-25 despite a collective 96 digs on the night.

Pinecrest splits tri-match

The Lady Paladins split a non-area tri-match Thursday at home.

Pinecrest defeated Lakeside-Atlanta (28-30, 25-23, 25-23) and lost to Chamblee (22-25, 23-25).
