Fire safety poster contest

The three winners of the Forsyth County Fire Department’s 2019 Fire Safety Poster Contest were recognized during the May 16 Board of Commissioners meeting. The winners from each poster theme category are:

• “Stay Low and Go” — Sasha Biran, a student at Daves Creek Elementary

• “Two Ways Out” — Seth Landers, a student at Whitlow Elementary

• “Firefighters Are Our Friends” — Kayal Subramanian, a student at Daves Creek Elementary

All three winners were treated to a pizza party with their classmates and local firefighters and will receive a certificate of accomplishment from Forsyth County Fire Chief Barry Head.

The artwork of the three winners and three runners-up will be displayed in county buildings. The annual Fire Safety Poster Contest is open to all third-grade students in Forsyth County public, private and home schools. This was the ninth year the contest was held.
