2 country music concerts announced for Cumming Fair

Country music star Colt Ford was among two concerts recently announced for the Cumming Country Fair and Festival

The city of Cumming has announced acts for two big nights of country music during the Cumming Country Fair & Festival.

On Friday, Cumming Fairgrounds officials announced Aaron Tippin, Sammy Kershaw and Collin Raye would bring the Roots and Boots Tour to the fairgrounds on Tuesday, Oct. 8, while Colt Ford will perform a solo show on Thursday, Oct. 10. Both shows will start at 8 p.m.

Known for songs like “Workin’ on” and “Drivin’ Around Song,’ Colt Ford, a former professional golfer, has built a following of country music fans. His most recent single, “We the People,” has more than 40,000 views on YouTube.

He is currently working on a new album scheduled to be released next year.

For the Roots and Boots Tour, Collin Ray is known for his No. 1 hit “Love, Me” and had four consecutive platinum records in the early 90s.

Aaron Tippin has had three No.1 singles – "There Ain't Nothin' Wrong with the Radio," "That's as Close as I'll Get to Loving You" and "Kiss This" – and Sammy Kershaw is known for his hits “She Don’t Know She’s Beautiful,” “Queen of the Double-Wide Trailer” and “Cadillac Style.”

The fair will be held October 3-13 at the fairgrounds, and there will be no admission for the shows other than fair tickets.
