2 suspects sought in theft of $1,500 exotic plant

OAKWOOD -- Oakwood Police said the theft took place before 7 p.m. May 30 at Lanier Package Store on McEver Road.

Police are looking for a man and a woman suspected of stealing a “Pror Teal Angko Chim,” a plant with an estimated value greater than $1,500.

The plant is believed to “bring good luck and good fortune to the owner of the plant,” police said.

The suspects enter the store and purchase alcohol before leaving the store in a red Toyota Camry, police said. The plant stood on the top of the cooler outside of the store.

The first suspect is a white man with a limp in his early 40s, weighing 165-175 pounds and standing roughly 5 feet, 6 inches tall. He was seen in surveillance video wearing blue jean shorts and a striped T-shirt.

The second suspect is a white woman in her late 30s, weighing 200-240 pounds and between 5 feet, 3 inches tall and 5 feet, 6 inches tall. She was seen wearing a black sleeveless blouse and a patterned skirt.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police department at 770-534-2364. Anyone that comes into contact with the two are asked to call 911 or the local police department.
