Fire officials say that a residence off Browns Bridge Road in north Forsyth is likely a total loss after fire quickly spread through the home on Tuesday morning.
According to Division Chief Jason Shivers of the Forsyth County Fire Department, at approximately 1:10 a.m. on July 30, fire crews arrived on scene at 9950 Kings Road and found a single-story home that was heavily engulfed in flames.
Fire crews discovered that the residence’s sole occupant had made it out of the home unharmed, but the damage to the residence had been done, Shivers said.
Shivers said that five engines and a host of support units arrived to battle the blaze over a span of several hours. A preliminary investigation confirmed that the fire was accidental.
The residence’s occupant, an elderly female, and her adult son, who lived at the home but who was not home at the time of the fire, have been displaced to stay with family in the area, Shivers said.
No fire personnel, civilians or pets were injured in the fire, he said.
