An annual motorcycle ride to benefit children in need is Sunday.

Registration for the 20th Buck Jones Memorial Toy Run is set for 11 a.m. at the Cumming Fairgrounds. Kickstands go up at 1 p.m.

Proceeds will go to children from Forsyth, Dawson and Lumpkin counties.

Jones, a former Cumming Police chief and the event’s namesake, started the toy drive after seeing a lack of charities to help families with presents at Christmas. He died in 2010 at age 70.

The event is sponsored by Bikers Dream of Atlanta. Don Parkinson, owner and longtime friend of Jones, said local law enforcement will provide an escort for those participating.

“A good time will be had by all, but only if you show up,” Parkinson said.

Participants are asked to bring one new, unwrapped toy for each of the three stops along the way. For more information, call (770) 752-9160.
