A Gainesville teenager is charged with shooting at another vehicle after an alleged drug deal turned sour, according to authorities.

Bryce Cameron Byrd, 17, is charged with reckless conduct and discharging a firearm near a public roadway after an alleged incident Sunday.

Hall County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded Sunday to Clarks Bridge Road on a call of shots fired from a vehicle.

“The investigation revealed that the occupants of the suspect vehicle, including Mr. Byrd, met the occupants of the complainant’s vehicle at a location to purchase marijuana, but the deal apparently went bad,” Sheriff’s Office Deputy Stephen Wilbanks wrote in a news release.

Wilbanks said the vehicle occupied by Byrd drove southbound on Clarks Bridge Road while Byrd allegedly “fired two shots from a revolver in the direction of the complainant’s vehicle.”

No injuries or property damage was reported.

Deputies searched the suspect vehicle, finding a revolver, marijuana and “marijuana related devices,” Wilbanks said.

Byrd was arrested and also charged with possession of marijuana and drug related objects. He was booked in to the Hall County Jail, where he remains.
