SOUTH FORSYTH — Traffic is scheduled to shift overnight Thursday along a section Bethelview Road between the Dollar General Store north of Hwy. 9 to just north of Castleberry Road.

The state Department of Transportation is urging motorists to use caution while traveling in the area.

The shift is part of the $4.8 million widening project, set to be completed by June 30.

Weather permitting, work will begin Thursday night and will be finished by 6 a.m. Friday. During that time, lanes will be moved in sections and closures will cause traffic delays in the area.

Harold Mull, a DOT district engineer, said for motorists traveling through the work zone “extreme caution is necessary.”

“Please slow down as you travel through this work zone,” he said. “Message signs are in place now to alert the community of the upcoming changes.”
