LAKE LANIER -- The body of a white man in his 60s has been recovered from Lake Lanier at Gainesville Marina off Dawsonville Highway, according to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.
The man rented a slip in the marina and kept his boat stored there, according to the sheriff’s office. Authorities said the preliminary investigation “has not revealed any indication of foul play.”
The sheriff’s office responded to the scene about 10 a.m. Thursday. Authorities said a fisherman noticed the body floating about 20 feet from a large houseboat in the main part of the marina.
The man has been identified, but his identity is not being released yet so family members can be notified.
