NORTH FORSYTH – Two major roadways in Forsyth County, one in the north near Lake Lanier and one in Cumming, are partially closed due to separate crashes that each ended in vehicles careening down an embankment Friday afternoon.

Deputies with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office have closed one lane on Browns Bridge Road (Hwy. 369 east) in north Forsyth after an accident occurred near Bennett Lane, west of Waldrip Road, according to Deputy Doug Rainwater, a spokesman for the agency.

The driver of the car complained of minor injuries and was not transported to the hospital.

No one else was hurt.

It was not immediately clear if there were other vehicles or passengers involved, and no further identifying details on the injured driver were immediately available.

Rainwater said the lane will be reopened once the car is removed from the ditch.

Around the same time, another car also landed in a ditch after being involved in a separate accident on Turner Road near the intersection of Market Place Boulevard, Rainwater said.

A white BMW drove off the road after colliding with an orange Chevrolet Tahoe, Rainwater said, though it was not immediately clear who was at fault or how the wreck occurred.

The driver of the BMW complained of minor injuries but was not transported.

Others involved were uninjured, Rainwater said.

Part of the intersection is blocked.
