He’s not a state native or UGA graduate, but if anyone has earned the title of honorary Bulldog, it’s Stuart Cohen.

He and business partner Geoff Chalk will open the UGAForever Outlet Store at 10 a.m. today at its location on Samples Industrial Drive.

The retail and warehouse space is an offshoot of the pair’s online business, UGAForever.com, which they began this summer.

UGAForever is one of only a handful of businesses that partner with the University of Georgia Alumni Association to provide officially-licensed Bulldogs gear.

“We have another company called Southland Graphics Apparel, which is a licensee for about 11 schools … we got approached in February and the Georgia Alumni Association was looking for a partner to open a Web site,” Cohen said, adding the site went live in July.

“We’re very excited. It’s a three-year contract and it’s been accepted very well.”

Coming on the heels of Saturday’s victory over the University of Florida, Cohen said he’s expecting a successful store opening.

“We’ve already had people come in here,” he said. “They didn’t see it was Nov. 1, so it’s been wild.

“We expect a lot of business, especially with the SEC Championship coming up the first weekend in December and Lord knows if [the Bulldogs] could beat [the University of] Alabama where they would go. So it’s a pretty exciting time.”

Through its partnership with the UGA Alumni Association, it sends e-mail blasts to more than 120,000 graduates all around the world.

Chalk said since it began, the Web site has received orders from all over the United States and as far away as Germany and Australia.

Through the site and new storefront, members of the Bulldog nation can find just about any UGA-themed item.

There’s everything from standard T-shirts and jackets in all sizes to novelty items such as “dawg” collars and leashes and toasters that imprint slices of bread with the team’s “G” logo.

“We have over 400 items, everything from tissue paper and duct tape, all the way up to the high-end nice wearable stuff for men and women,” Cohen said. “We have over 30 items for children. We carry all the way from newborn items up to 4X.”

Cohen, who is originally from the Northeast, said nothing compares to the loyalty he’s seen from Bulldog fans.

“One of our suppliers told us that Georgia is the No. 4 brand in the country,” he said. “The Georgia nation is just huge.”
