John D. Bramblett, president and chief executive officer of Patriot Bank of Georgia in Cumming, has been elected by his peers in the Northeast Georgia area to a two-year term on the board of directors of the Georgia Bankers Association.

In making the announcement, association president Joe Brannen cited Bramblett’s experience.

“He will serve our industry and association well,” Brannen said.

Bramblett, a 22-year industry veteran, began his career with The Peoples Bank of Forsyth County and its successor, Regions Bank.

After 13 years with Regions, he became the founding executive vice president/senior lender of First National Bank of Johns Creek, which was acquired by Main Street Bank.

At Main Street, Bramblett continued as executive vice president and division executive for the North Fulton/Forsyth Division until 2005.

He then became the founding president and CEO of Patriot Bank of Georgia.

Bramblett is a graduate of Gainesville College, Georgia State University and the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Georgetown University.

Founded in 1892, the Georgia Bankers Association promotes the general welfare and usefulness of banking and the preservation of a sound banking system.
