Belk in Cumming will hold its Fall Charity Sale on Nov. 7.

The four-hour, in-store shopping event offers a fundraising opportunity for participating nonprofit organizations and a chance for customers to support charities and enjoy discounts on purchases.

In return for a $5 donation, customers receive a ticket to the sale, set for 6 to 10 a.m. Nov. 7, and entitling them to discounts ranging from 15 to 50 percent on purchases, including special savings on rarely discounted brands.

Customers also receive $5 off their first purchase of $5 or more, and Belk cardholders will receive double points for card purchases.

Participating local charities are selling tickets in advance and get to keep the proceeds from those sales.

Tickets may also be bought at the store, with all donations divided among the participating charities.

In addition, customers can register to win one of three $1,000 Belk shopping sprees.

Charlotte, N.C.-based Belk Inc. has more than 300 stores in 16 Southern states. The company's previous charity sale, held May 2, raised more than $5 million for hundreds of participating nonprofit organizations.
