The Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce is preparing for one of its most popular events next week.
On Tuesday, the organization will welcome Frank Norton Jr. for the 2011 Economic Outlook Breakfast.
Norton, president of the Gainesville-based Norton Agency real estate and insurance firm, is a real estate expert in the north Georgia area.
Each year, he authors Native Intelligence, an annual economic forecast that provides data on a range of topics, including housing and job markets.
James McCoy, president and chief executive officer of the chamber, said the annual breakfast has become “one of our hallmark events.”
“Frank does a fantastic job,” McCoy said. “The breakfast is a unique opportunity because he looks at all the counties in north Georgia.
“He’s real familiar with the area. He really understands all the research and data and how that affects the area.”
The breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m. at the Lanier Technical College Forsyth Conference Center. McCoy said it is one of several events the chamber has held at the facility since it opened in October.
Due to the size of the facility, anyone who wants to attend will be able to do so. In years past, not everyone got in.
“If we had more than 140 or 150 people, we had a waiting list,” McCoy said.
About 150 people have registered so far. Since many register a day or two before the event, McCoy said the breakfast may see more than 200.
Those interested can register online or by phone.
McCoy expects another successful gathering.
“Clearly, people are getting a lot out of this breakfast because it continues to grow and grow,” he said.
