GAINESVILLE -- An attorney from Cumming is among the five new members recently added to the North Georgia Community Foundation’s board of directors.

Kevin J. Tallant will join Tim Darrah of Clayton and Rob Fowler, Rusty Hopkins and Lona Paulos-Pope, all of Gainesville, on the panel.

A founding partner of the Miles Patterson Hansford Tallant law firm in Cumming, Tallant currently serves on the board for Forsyth County Community Connection.

He is past president of the Forsyth County Arts Alliance and a member of Cumming First United Methodist Church and the Lanier Forsyth Rotary Club.

Founded in 1985 by Lou Fockele and other business leaders, the foundation is dedicated to enhancing the spirit and quality of life in the northeast Georgia by building, managing and awarding charitable grants from a pool of community funds valued in excess of $47 million.

To date, more than $45 million in grants have been awarded. The organization also promotes training and networking among the region’s nearly 300 nonprofits.
