A Cumming interior design firm is seeking applicants for a room makeover.

This will be the third year for the award, valued at up to $20,000, from Allison Havill Todd Interiors.

In 2009, the company established the Designing Dreams contest, which selects an individual or family in physical or emotional crisis with a room makeover.

Families from anywhere in the north Atlanta area are invited to apply.

Deadline for entries is July 1, and applications and nominations can be made online at www.designingdreams.org. Full criteria can also be found there.

Last year, the award went to Jesse’s House, a girls’ group home in Cumming.

In 2009, the recipient was a family with a young daughter with special needs stemming from a premature birth and other problems, including a brain tumor.

Ladies Night Out, a fundraising event for Designing Dreams, is set for 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. April 27 at Tam’s Backstage restaurant.

The event will feature beauty and shopping with several vendors offering products ranging from skin care and massages to jewelry and artwork.

Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door.
