A fundraiser for a program that makes over rooms for people in need will be Thursday.
Allison Havill Todd Interiors began its Designing Dreams program four years ago.
Through the program, nominations are accepted from the community for a family or organization that could benefit from a room makeover.
Past recipients have included the Bald Ridge Lodge, Jesse’s House and a family with a child who has many health problems.
The event, called Ladies Night Out, will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Inspirations Kitchen & Bath Showroom.
“We have about eight vendors coming out,” Todd said. “It’ll be a pretty wide variety.”
Among the items for sell, she said, will be purses, jewelry, candles and food products.
Wine, soda and heavy hors d’oeuvres will be included in the ticket cost, which is $15 if purchased by April 18 or $20 at the door.
“Even if they just come and eat, they’ll get their money’s worth,” Todd said. “The venue is a really cool place too. If someone’s looking for up-to-date kitchen remodeling ideas, it’s a great space for that.”
There will also be several raffles for donated items from the event vendors.
All ticket and raffle sale proceeds will go toward this year’s Designing Dreams room makeover.
Todd said nominations are being accepted for the program online, with a deadline of June 1.
“So far, we haven’t received any, so I’d love to start getting some in,” she said. “This is a great prize and I know there are a lot of people out there who could benefit from it.”
Todd works with other professionals in the interior design and construction fields to completely recreate a space at no charge to the winning family or organization.
Past projects have been valued at about $20,000.
As for the fundraiser, Todd said she’ll be happy with whatever amount is raised.
“Anything we raise is great,” she said, adding that the event should be fun. “Everybody who came to this last year had a blast. It’s entertaining with good food and fun products.”
